Schools
• The South Coast's northernmost school district is the Siuslaw School District in Florence. The district operates an elementary school, middle school and high school. Its superintendent is Gerald Hamilton and the administrative offices are located at 2111 Oak St., available by calling (541) 997-2651.
• In Douglas County, the Reedsport School District's administration offices are located at 100 Ranch Road. The district operates Highland Elementary School and Reedsport Junior/Senior High School. The superintendent is Forrest Bell and the district offices can be reached at (541) 271-3656.
• North Bend School District has two elementary schools, a middle school, a technology school and a high school. The district's superintendent is Dr. BJ Hollensteiner, whose office is located at 1913 Meade St. The phone number is (541)756-2521.
A district-run charter school, the Oregon Coast Technology School, provides a technology and computer based education for students in grades seven though 12. The Lighthouse School, a charter school that will offer kindergarten through eighth grade, is located at the same location as North Bay Elementary, 93670 Viking Lane. • Coos County's largest district is Coos Bay, which includes three elementary schools, a 5-6 intermediate school, a 7-8 middle school and a high school. The district also hosts the Resource Link online charter school, based at the Harding Building on the Marshfield High School campus, located at the corner of 10th Street and Ingersoll Avenue.

• The nearby Myrtle Point School District offers a somewhat different configuration of classes and schools than other districts in the county. Students in grades 1 through 6 attend Myrtle Crest School. Seventh- through 12th-graders attend Myrtle Point Junior/Senior High School. The district superintendent is Kent Klewitz. Its offices are located at 212 Spruce St. and can be reached by calling (541) 572-2811.
• Coos County's tiniest, Powers School District manages one elementary school and one high school. The superintendent is Matt Shorb. The district can be reached by calling (541) 439-2291.
• The Bandon School District manages three schools: Ocean Crest Elementary, Harbor Lights Middle School and Bandon High School. Its superintendent is Diane Buche, who can be reached at the district's main office, 455 S.W. Ninth St., or by calling (541) 347-4411.
